Why Take This Course?
Each year in Ireland, thousands of workers suffer from injuries and discomfort in their joints, muscles, and bones. The risk of injuries from manual handling operations increases when workers lack the necessary information or training to work safely.
Employers have a legal responsibility to protect their employees from injury or illness caused by work activities and environments. Failure to comply with these duties may result in action by the HSA or other enforcement agencies. By taking our Manual Handling Awareness training course, employers will learn how to comply with the Manual Handling General Applications Regulation 2007 and understand their responsibilities regarding manual handling.
Employees involved in lifting, carrying, and handling objects are at risk of injury if these tasks are not managed effectively. These injuries should not be accepted as an inevitable part of work. Employers can reduce the risks associated with moving and handling activities through proper design, planning, and ensuring workers are correctly trained. By taking our Manual Handling Awareness training course, employees will learn the importance of following training, adhering to work procedures, and practicing good manual handling techniques.
Course Modules:
 Importance of Safe Manual Handling
 Risk Assessment for Safe Manual Handling
 Avoiding and Controlling the Risks
 Safe Manual Handling Techniques
Assessment
After finishing the training, you'll take an online test. It consists of 10 multiple-choice questions, and you need to score at least 80% to pass. Your answers are graded automatically, so you'll immediately know your result. If you don't pass, don't worry! You can retake the test as many times as you want without any extra cost.
Manual Handling Practical Part
 After completing the theoretical section of the Manual Handling Course, you will gain access to the practical component. Clear instructional videos will guide you step by step through the correct lifting techniques.
How to complete the practical session:
1. Record a video of yourself demonstrating safe lifting techniques:
┬À Lift an object from the floor
┬À Place it on a table or similar surface
┬À Return it to the floor using the techniques shown in the course
2. Speaking in the video is not required. The focus is on performing the movements correctly and safely.
3. If you donÔÇÖt have a box, you can use any suitable object.
4. You will need to send a short video on WhatsApp (text messages only, no calls). The WhatsApp number of your assigned instructor will appear at the end of the course.
